Independent reviews. No sponsored hype.

From the Editor

We started The Circuit Journal because the gadget review industry had become indistinguishable from the marketing departments of the companies it was supposed to scrutinize. Every launch became a celebration. Every flaw became a "minor quibble." Every product was, somehow, the best one yet.

Our promise is simple: we buy what we review, we use it the way you would, and we tell you when it's not worth your money — even when that means saying so about a beloved brand. There are no affiliate-driven recommendations on this site, no influencer junkets, no embargo deals.

If that sounds like the kind of journalism you've been missing, you're in the right place.

Our review process, in plain language

i.

We buy what we review

Every product on this site was paid for at retail. No loaner units, no PR samples, no deals.

ii.

We test for at least three weeks

One-day impressions are not reviews. We use the device daily, in real conditions, before we form opinions.

iii.

We disclose everything

Conflicts of interest, prior relationships with manufacturers, anything that could influence our judgment is on the page.

iv.

We update when we're wrong

Reviews are revised when products change via firmware, when long-term issues emerge, or when we simply got it wrong.
